Giving to others

We lost a great man, a firefighter, to lung cancer! Cancer that he didn’t know was there. Didn’t make it a year! My husband worked for the great man. My children respect the work they do. So the other day we were at the grocery store, the firefighters were out front, “fill the boot” fundraiser. And my son ran in to grab one item that we needed and as he walked out the door he threw in some money. I said, buddy that was nice of you. Thinking it was from the change he got after paying with the $20 I gave him, I asked, how much? He said $3, but don’t worry mommy, it was my money. 😍Such a proud moment for a parent! He knows it was for a great cause.

Family time

How many of you sit down at the table every day for a meal with your family? I am talking about those of you with kids, without phones, without distractions. You know, just talking with each other. Me, I do, everyday and hopefully my boys will do the same with their families one day. What a blessing it is! Family time.😍

Sunsets

For me, stopping on the side of the road and checking out the sunset is very relaxing! Seriously, just take a moment and take it all in. The beauty around us is everywhere however, most of us don’t take the time to really enjoy the views around us.

Scary times as a mom

A few years ago my son had an abscess that ruptured upper jaw line. His whole face was swollen and the surgeon said the word cancer. So scary! Luckily it turned out not to be the case. I asked questions on why this happened and what can we do so this doesn’t happens again. He told me nothing, these things just happen. Well here we go again, however, we just some answers, turns out there is a small hole in between his tooth that is causing bacteria to reach the root. When his tooth begin to grow, the top and the bottom didn’t grow completely together. He is 15, with all the dentist appointments over the years not one doctor caught this. So my baby is having a root canal done tomorrow to fix this issue. This saddens me that he is hurting again for the same issue that should have been repaired several years ago when he had to emergency surgery to clean out the large amount of pus, the infection was almost to his eye. I just hope I don’t wake up in the morning with his whole face swollen again!

Winter Blues

Winter has finally set in on our region, cabin fever will soon affect my kids and my husband. 😂😂So I must keep everyone busy so they don’t drive me crazy. Project one, redoing a piece of furniture. I have a bench that I have wanted to refinish for some time. So by getting the kids involved with the sander makes them happy. Also having them help with the painting gives some accomplishment when the project is done. Soon I will have pictures to share with you all.
